Here are some things I've done to prevent being tracked by Google, Fakebook etc

Add your own tips, and let me know your thoughts.

Use Protonmail secure email.

Use free Proton VPN on your phone and desktop. Other vpns are Perfect Privacy, Tunnel Bear, Tor, and NordVPN. Do not trust the vpns completely.

Enable killswitch in the VPN to block internet access if the vpn goes offline.

In the vpn, enable split tunnel, so certain apps, such as messenger or youtube can bypass the vpn for performance (if needed)

Install the Duckduckgo private browser on your phone.

Replace Dropbox with Nextcloud, and deny Nexctloud internet access.

Setup a camera montoring system at home such as Zoneminder, or a Swann out of the box solution.

Install forward and reverse dashcams in your car.

Keep your devices patched often to get security fixes.

Install browser plugins like Cookie Autodelete and Privacy Badger.

Use Duckduckgo, or Startpage search engines instead of google.com.

Delete accounts on Google, Fakebook ,Microsoft services.

Use Tor browser for sensitive searches.

Search for your name, address, usernames etc in search engines and get your records deleted from each site, or from google, bing, duckduckgo themselves.

Install Squid proxy at home, and Openwrt or Endian firewall. Configure all devices on your network to route out via squid.

On your firewall, only allow Squid access to the internet.

In Squid, download a hosts file to block access to advertising, tracking domains.

Add that same host file to your desktops and phones.

Take photos of texts with girls who seem unstable. (some messaging apps will report that you've taken a screenshot to the other party)

Install Call Recorder Pro on your phone, to use as evidence if needed. (some states have different laws on this, but it might be worth doing if that's not allowed as evidence, it may protect you socially for eg)

Ignore any subreddit surveys etc. These can be used to determine your identity via cookies in your browser from tracking services, plus they can install malware or get your IP address.

Be careful clicking links in reddit for the above reasons.

Install a privacy focused operating system inside a vmware player virtual machine for any dodgy browsing, so websites can't infect your main desktop.

Use a privacy focused OS such as Cube or Tails.

Use a privacy focussed instant messenger such as Signal or Telegram.

Check for dns leaks once your vpn is running.

Use a different random password for each website, store them in keepass.

Before sellling a phone, factory reset it, wipe it, then remove the sd card.

Donate to people online using bitcoin or monero instead of Paypal/Patreon.

Ditch android and use lineageos/f-droid, instead of google play services.

Buy a safe/lockable filing cabinet at home.
