It's all different cuts of the same old dress. Humans are higly adaptable, flexible and resilient. People have been kvetching about "the instability" of everything for thousands of years. The ONLY difference is we have a delivery system capable if keeping things in our face 24/7, an industry built on doing just that, and copious amounts of free time with no idea how to productively use it.

I expect 1 of 3 things to happen.

The human race dies off permanently as the planet reaches biosphere collapse. This could/will result from numerous environmental issues.
Society collapses and we live in the Stone age, slowly rebuilding.
Society trucks on but goes full blown 1984, handling the current problems we are faced with by whatever means necessary soley for the desire to rule, derived from the desire for power and greed.

It's simplified, but the tldr of what I could say.

If 1 and 2 don't occur, I expect 3 to be 90% likely of becoming reality, since Western Civilization is already on that path.

you might consider preparing for a rapid simplification of civilisation....

When things start to unravel, its going to accelerate, and maybe go to a spud based economy similar to what happened after the collapse of the USSR, but on a planet wide scale...

Having your own "spud futures" might be a good idea....

If you have spuds for the soup, you can afford to let everything else sort itself out in it's own sweet time...
