It's not you it's just the nature of online dating I'm also black , shorter than you , heavier than you and I've gotten a few matches ( I've definitely swiped well over 500 times though). You sound like a good guy .... online dating was not made with good guys in mind... in fact I'd argue online dating much like much of social media has been made with the goal of seeing who can fake being interesting , exciting , and fun the best .

It's just the nature of the beast. You can read TRP to learn how to game women and do better at online dating but honestly I don't think anything good will come of it.

You also have to remember many of the women doing online dating are the worsts women, what kind of girl has to use an app to get a date ? The crazy ones, the slutty ones who want a different dude every night, the anxious ones or ones dealing with mental issues, and a much much smaller subset that are decently functioning busy women ( we're talking the 1% maybe) . As a person who has done lots of online dating in my own life, it's for broken and lonely people.

By right swiping everyone Tinder pushed your profile into the abyss where barely anyone gets to see your profile. They added this algorithm years ago to stop people from right swiping everyone then unmatching later.

Try the experiment again, on a different app like Bumble. But this time be selective about your swipes. They push your profile higher based on your “right swipe ratio”. The more you get right swiped and the less people you right swipe then the higher you get pushed to the front. This is why in the beginning you see all the best looking people on their app. Thats how they suck you in.

You are a successful good looking man, but this is Tinder. Dude 23 matches is GOOD for Tinder. I totally get what you're saying, but my longest stint on there I kept the app for 6 months and it took me almost that long to hit 20-25 matches. That being said, I asked some of the girls once I had them over to my place if I could see what their side of Tinder looked like and these 6/10 THOTS were rocking 200 matches and 80 conversations going at once, not to mention I'd be fingering a girl or something and she'd be getting snapchatted by 8 guys with the fucking notification going off in the background. I stayed with one girl from Tinder for almost a month and she acted like it was such an honor to turn off all the orbiters finally a few weeks in. Pathetic, disgusting.

I suppose you probably knew this would happen in the end, you're already awakened to female nature from the sounds of it but it's a tough pill to swallow so I can understand not feeling 100% willing to accept AWALT right away. I played this game, too, but I also switched up some variables. I swiped right to about 30-40% of women. I didn't bother with ones I wouldn't be able to summon the motivation to actually talk to. My thinking was getting ugly matches would just trash my ego anyway, so why subject myself to it?

In the early days I got what I would consider "tons" of matches. One out of every 20-30 would swipe back. I also had a photo of me with an attractive woman as my main photo, which made a huge difference even though I looked pretty dumb.

I switched that for a photo of me by myself and renamed my job to something lower status: zero matches. I can literally swipe through thousands of girls in a big city and not get one match. Tinder is not for us in the bottom 80%. At one time, maybe it was, but no longer.

What? What city do you live in? I'm black, in a bigger city located in the south, and I'm doing damage on tinder: http://imgur.com/gallery/jwsRLWu. 6'1, own a cat, good job, no kids.
