Is the fact that the majority of people's thought, actions and motivations aren't even really authentically their own... they never spent anytime in a room by themselves and just thought about what they really really wanted and think for themselves.

Instead, everything they do from now until they die will be a product of just what's marketed to invoke emotions in them on social media, commercials, T.V shows, movies and they'll be oblivious because all that media (and I mean all of it!) sneaks in through their subconscious mixed in with the fear of being shamed in society. But because humans are stubborn, they'll think everything they do is out of free will. And the people at the top know this entirely but that's a different topic/sub... but hey, I guess that's "control the masses 101".
