In the interest of being upfront and honest, I studied Commerce in university but made my career in sales. Sales of what? Any industry will do as long as you figure out a way to appeal to your customer base, but I found that selling financial products does NOT work for me (by which I mean real estate, insurance, investment products, etc.). People are afraid of discussing finances, particularly over the phone. I made the most money selling services people need, such as booking inspections for office rentals, or for furniture removals, etc.

Currently I'm working two jobs, one in Hospital Administration, and another is a cold calling job. I earn above $6k and get two different paychecks on two different paydays each month, and both employers contribute towards my retirement fund. Sweet.

I install concrete. Got a CDL and operate the crane on the back of my truck. Make around 80k a year. One year into this job and have about 20k saved across bank and retirement accounts. I overpay on my monthly bills to knock down that debt.

I just blow too much money playing paintball. But fuck it. I love the sport and dont have a chick sucking the life out of me and my accounts.

I work in a warehouse. Making nearly $15/hour, with benefits and 401k. It's also got room to grow.

I earn a mediocre salary working in health insurance. I can stroll to the office and the hours are OK. Could schlep up to London I guess but I don't require the additional resources, so why worry?

Over a dozen years as an overseas contractor. Six figures of tax free money. Free room and board. Free gym, entertainment and medical. 6-8 weeks of paid R&R a year where the company pays for/reimburses for flights to where ever you wish to go.

Automation tech. Food packaging industry. If you have a head on your shoulders, willing to learn, and are a hard worker, 6 figure salary no problem., but it requires traveling for work.

Operator at a power plant. Base pay over $30 an hour with nearly unlimited overtime potential. No formal education.
