Why do most men still want to commit?

I think its a yearning for a deep loyalty. The union of two entities, when properly applied, is a comforting thought.

The problem is, from experience and history, that only one side seems to honor that type of relationship.

I want to believe in unicorns but I think the only responsible way to view that is more agnostic-ish.

Pressure from family, the girlfriend, a misplaced sense of obligation, temporary elation and suspension of reality - replaced by the novelty and fantasy.

they do not see this.

in the back of their minds they see, understand alimony and potential child support, something like 10% of what it really is.

then reality hits, crushes, destroys..

..if they survive, then they tell stories to other men whom are making the same mistake, though they are disregarded.

quite a system, isn't it.

this is why we are here.. if they'll listen, we want to inform them, help them.

Mostly sex. But also social pressure - we're lemmings programmed to do this kind of stuff. You all probably know well what happens if you have different views on this matter. They start to see you as a recluse or start conjuring mental problems etc. They will call you gay/weak/irresponsible etc. when really you all are opposite. Herds don't like individuals.

marriage or exclusive relationships is hard wired in the male brain It is highly rewarding to get a mate. It is the equivalent to cocaine the heroine. That is why men will take a bullet for a women.

It's what society tells us we need to do. Most people don't want to stand out. Misery loves company. They don't like seeing a free man in his 30s or 40s while their stuck with their nagging SOs

Because a man wants a woman who will love him the same way he loves her. Unconditionally and with all his heart. Problem is no such woman exists. Men love women love children love puppies. It doesn't work in reverse.

Ideals are never possible but I actually think a positive monogamous loyal marriage is possible. Difficult but possible. Especially difficult today tho.
