Tried asking this on other websites, got instantly banned :)

Okay so this question has always puzzled me, "It crushes your soul!"; "It destroys your life!"; "You will feel worthless!"... how are these descriptions used for something that's essentially just rough sex?

My theory is evolution. You see all females have one single most important drive: to select the genetics that go to her offspring, a woman's strongest primal instinct is for her to have the final say as to which males get to pass on their genes and which don't.

With rape however, she doesn't have the final say, the rapist does. And obviously this is counter to proper natural selection. So evolution comes in and programs women to get these over-the-top emotions and breakdowns when they get raped, it's an instinct. Logically rape is no worse than slapping someone in the face ("Oh no! Not the Penis!"), but instinct always trumps logic. Of course not all rapes result in pregnancy, and if they did women these days can get an abortion easily, but that's not important cause there's neurological mechanisms still programmed in them from millions of years ago.

It's kinda like the Stockholm syndrome, logically you would expect a hostage to hate his kidnapper's guts, yet for some reason, if you kidnap someone, torture them, and starve them for 4 days, they will fall madly in love with you. Does it make logical sense? No, but it's an instinct so it doesn't have to.

What remains is the men. Non of them understand why rape is such a big deal, except that women tell them it is. They will bow their heads in approval as a woman rants about how rapists should be castrated, meanwhile they ignore the 800 pound gorilla in the room that non of them dare mention "What the heck is she talking about, he just put his dick in her fish hole"
