well it depends on the religion itself
because there were religions that encouraged hoeing
especially those whith multiple gods, where they have a goddess of fertility or something like that
then there were also gods that encouraged abortion, but it was seen more like an offering to the gods

these religion didn't build civilizations, did they?
i believe these societies ultimately failed
[–][deleted] 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
As much as I don't want to sound religious those who actually subscribe to Abrahamic religions (not just pretending to believe in God but actually following what their religious books are teaching) generally turn out to be valuable contributors to society. The West was built partially thanks to strong Christian values among the populace. One of the possible catalysts of the West's collapse today is rapid decline of Christianity.

You are correct. But it is not the loss of the belief in a god but rather the loss of rules which polices social behaviour. This made men productive and women protected. Breaking out of ‘oppression’ by women has destabilized our social order. That is one of the reasons I like MGTOW because it isn’t about saying ‘ah we need to fix this shit’ instead it is ‘do you mother fuckers see what is going on around here?!’.

Well, but if you treat morale just like set or rules, that could be amended ad infinitum by each new generation, you could easily end up in current situation. i'm not big fan of Sharia Law, but this old relic sometimes much closer to fair deal and justice in general, than product of modern secular legislators. Allthanks to scary figure of One an Only God, who prohibits amending even single word of scriptures.

You sound like you are still stuck on the mysticism of religion and have yet (and may never) understand the role it plays in the development of an intelligent civilization. The ‘morality’ religion creates is a set of rules put in place to set boundaries for a populous. This allows people to know your moral position (the doctrine of your religion) thus making collaboration possible without having to truly know the individual (you share the same religion you share the same moral code). Of course we know this to be theory because people deviate from the moral doctrine all the time. It has become more prevalent as time progressed. Which you understand however this is an inevitable result of our cultural and intellectual evolution and cannot be stopped (at best it can be ‘steered’).

ah yes absolutely.

I believe America was built out of slavery and oppression, but sure, there were some churches.

Give me an example of a well-developed nation that didn't have morally dark days in its history. I'll wait.
[–]whyislifesoeasy1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well first thanks for conceding to my point. As for yours you're right. You can go.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's... a strangely respectful response. But I'll take it, hope you have a nice day.

Ummm... the Roman Empire? Most successful European empire? The various Chinese dynasty? The Hindu kingdoms of India? A lot of religion can build societies.
[–]wildozure0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
All of those mentioned played a very large part in defining modern christianity. (China not so much as Rome, but certainly the region's surrounding India all had an impact)
[–]Obsolitz2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
my bad, i was rederring to polytheist societies. For instance i believe the Celt and Norse religions didn't produce massive civs like the Romans or Greek. However their societies were very freedom oriented...
[–]wildozure0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
But they did! They may not be seen as such based on cultural differences to what we define as empires or kingdoms, but they certainly held quite a swath of land. Especially the celts and Norse. (The celts especially...gaul??? Iberia??? Huge for what it was. Let alone the Celtic offshoots)
[–]Obsolitz0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
that's true.
[–]jsjsjskaka1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Religions cant build civilizations, humans can. no perfect civ can exist because there is no way a human is made perfectly to our standards
[–]roflcopt0rz_returns14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I've stated on several occasions that religion, while responsible for quite a few evils in the world, was ultimately a net positive for society. And I say this as an atheist.
[–]cryptomoonlanding9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I’d rather not be staying at God’s plantation or any plantation. Religion is social control like any other.
[–]whyserenity7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And that is literally why we have the problems we do. We had controls on all this insanity for millenia, and now we've decided they aren't important. And people like you are surprised at the society we have now. Religion was always aimed at making sure women act well and aren't lying whores ready to spread their legs for anyone.

The Ten Commandments are a pretty good set of rules to live one's life regardless of one's belief in a Deity or not.
[–]Gunttherr1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You mean 6 commandments. The first 4 commandments are utterly useless if not harmful.

FFS--Call it the ten or six rules to live life without screwing over other people...what's so wrong about telling people that one should not steal or one should not murder or one should not commit adultery? Just because it's in the Bible doesn't mean it's bad.

As a way to justify their true religion which is pussy.

I remember when i first started reading The Rationale Male. I could NOT believe my own eyes. I planned on reading a few pages and goin to bed but ended up not sleeping a wink as i flipped through the pages with my jaw on the floor.
Unplugging was unpleasant work, however 'the roots of knowledge is bitter but the fruit is sweet.'

[–]whyserenity4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
He wants you to know that religion is the single reason our society worked for millenia, and why it is falling apart now when people say it is useless. The "plantation," was so women didn't act like whores and fuck anyone.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes it works for stupid people. Society got too advanced for the majority that are like cattle
[–]whyserenity0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
it worked for the majority. When getting pregnant meant you had to run away from society for 9 months and losing all respect, women had sex less. When a woman couldn't get married if she was not a virgin, she wasn't a whore.
[–]Patricijaobjectdude2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This guy believes that a female's validatiin of you is the ultimate definition of your masculinity. Which imo is blue pill 101.
Rollo is a red pilled simp.
[–]whyserenity1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No. It's literally been a guide on how to survive and thrive. Especially the Jewish religion and Christianity. The early portions of the Bible are literally common sense stuff on how not to murder yourself in a world where sanitation and proper cooking are impossible. Add in a bunch of laws to make sure people actually act like adults and women don't act like whores, and your society will be pretty good. There's a reason our society is garbage now. Religion made sure that didn't happen for a very long time.
[–]Gunttherr0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Religion is still bullshit though. Full of superstition and ignorance.
[–]whyserenity6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Full of actual good advice and reality. But you wouldn't know that because you've never even tried to study it. Our society is what you get when you ignore religion.
[–]ThereasonableMan121 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Replace that with evolution
Yeah like most people
[–]PrinceRaj53-5 points-4 points-3 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Religion is a tool of gynocentrism, specially designed for population control and brainwashing people (specially men) to accept false blue pill dogma and to make them believe that as the only truth, in order to keep soyciety going.
The society is built on the large pedestal of religion designed for women which is being washed regularly with the blood of innocent men.
Tradcuckery is the very first cancer which started all of this bullshit about marriage and whatnot and extended men's misery even more.
"But mah religious redpill texts and advice"
They are bullshit, mainly because even if they existed, people were fed with the bp dogma so much that men didn't even pay attention to that.
Does not matter whether a book has valid lessons amongst a bunch of garbage or not. Because even if it does have it, its useless if you are forced to focus on the garbage more than the actual valid lessons.
Edit: looks like I triggered some tradcuck blue pillers on this sub.
