No, female groupthink is instinctive, which is why you see it in every culture on the planet.

It's because women who spoke in a straightforward manner were often seen as too bold or masculine in the past.

It is because of all the "mean girl" behavior of women with each other. Studies show that slut shaming is mostly between women, not done by men. In the same way, women are mostly unwilling to risk their standing in the cool girls club by taking a stand unless they know it will be supported.

Which way is the wind blowing? That's the way women will go.

Note also the political implications. There is a phenomenon called a preference cascade, where everyone disagrees with the orthodoxy but keeps quiet. Then someone speaks out and it seems like there was a massive shift. Really, everyone else finally just expresses what they always believed.

Well, with just over half of voters, opinion is driven by what everyone else thinks. Most women are just seeing which way the wind is blowing.
This makes the political system less stable, as media can whip up massive shifts for no particular reason. Yay 14th amendment!
