Personal anecdotal observation, but my experience shows that women's rancour is directly proportional to their long-term memory. If a woman's memory is extremely catchy and durable (that happens), any relationships with her, even just on the "buddy" level, will eventually deteriorate.

One of the tools that manipulative people tend to use is guilt. In order to use guilt you have to remember every slight, snub, insult and wrongdoing whether intentional or unintentional, real or perceived.

All women have had their manipulation techniques ingrained into their DNA so this is just their nature (i.e. AWALT). Women are in perpetual psychological war with everyone around themselves. This is why children left in the care of women without a father tend to be unstable, insecure and unable to have healthy relationships.

Any small screwup goes into what I call the "hamster bank". She gets enough deposits in the bank, she can go cheat and be totally "justified". I don't think men ever truly forgive, either, only they're pragmatic and understand that it's in everyone's best interest to allow people some leeway to fuck up because sometimes you're the one who fucks up. They certainly never forget. I still resent dudes for past slights when push comes to shove . . . the dudes for whom my background status is "fuck that guy". I'm sure there are many who feel the same about me. If there was a power shift, for example . . . if you were promoted to president of the company and had the power to shove out any of your VP friends who had fucked you over in the past, there's a high likelihood that you would do so over time. There was a period of 'forgiveness' prior to the power shift, at which point that forgiveness is rescinded.

When I was starting university, I was living at a family house. It had been in my family for generations. One day, the whore formerly known as "mother" promised it to me and everything, so I could live there until I could do anything else. Within a year that promise was forgotten and I was replaced as "the good son" by my asshole of a little brother that was nothing but a drug addicted womanizer. His girlfriend was an absolute cunt, he fucking knocked that cunt up.

Needless to say the night I demanded recompense from my family was the night I got even. I've never spoken to those assholes since that night, but from I understand the house was in such a bad condition when they abandoned, yes they left it empty and up and left to go live in redneck country, the city reclaimed it and had to demolish it since repairing the damages would be more expensive than just demo'ing it and building a new house.

Everything that happened was because one woman, "mother" wanted grandkids, from 20 year olds no less!, and damned me for not having a girlfriend.
