My parents are fools in this sense, and so are a lot of the people I have worked with that are in the "Boomer" generation. People have been taught so little about how money and finances work, they are adults, but they have no clue how to use it responsibility. The fucked up part is, our government and society wants and requires these people to be fiscally irresponsible, otherwise their idea of a functioning society would fall apart in a matter of years at most.
