Depends on whether they are quoting first time marriages, subsequent marriages, overall marriages (including first and remarriage), area and country.

1st time marriages are usually at 50-60% 2nd time 60-70% And the idiots stubborn enough to go 3rd 80% (quite frankly if you are dumb enough to repeat the same mistake 3x over you deserve that)

Next note areas. I cannot speak for states in America as I am not American but apparently new York and California have worse divorce rates than say some place like Texas (apparently California 1st time marriages will be like 65-70% divorce rates) and Texas is like 45%. Las Vegas isn't even worth mentioning cause those idiots having 2 minutes weddings as if they are eating 2 minute noodles are as dumb as it comes. Some countries like Portugal apparently have divorce rates nearing 65%.

My country is still around 50% but then again many people don't even have legally recognized marriages and many people don't even divorce. They just walk away and split up so there is no "true" figure.

Hope that helps. So yes. It's not 70%... That's a bit sensational. However if the marriage rates are dropping but divorces aren't going down it simply means that the "real" divorce percentage actually increased if the marriage rates had gone up or stayed the same. Food for thought

Subtract the ultra-religious and the rich where the marriages are still the good old property contracts among families with their divorce rates around 15% and you'll get to 70% no problems....

If I use my own eyes, looking around with my friends and neighbors, I am suprised at the 79% number too. It is too low. I expected the number to be more like 90 to 95% rate for divorce. That is just using my eyes and who I know.

Have you seen the chart showing the divorce risk by the number of female non-marital sexual partners?

It's been mentioned in on some YouTube (now BitChute!) channels including TFM and Stefan Molyneux.

I tried to find it recently online and there's a copy of it here:

So according to the data (rounding the figures), the risk of divorce after 10 years depending on the number of female non-marital sexual partners:

0 non-marital partners: 20%
1 non-marital partners 50%
2 non-marital partners: 60%
5 non-marital partners: 70%
15 non-marital partners: 80%

If anyone knows where I can find the original study please share.

I've read that of the 50% of first time marriages that stay together half of those aren't happy. So you have a 3 out of 4 chance that you will be unhappy because of divorce or because of the dynamic of the couple.

Yeah when I research I get about 40/50% which is still brutal... I’ve never found info suggesting 75% regardless 40% is enough to keep me well and clear from that nightmare.

59 percent is believable but 75 wow that's too high
