ICU units can busy for many reasons. My brother was in the ICU before all this Coronavirus stuff happened and it was busy.

So if you take a typical busy ICU unit (pre-Coronavirus) and throw in just 5-10 people in there who have the flu/Coronavirus, it’s going to seem pretty bad to those doctors and nurses.

Also, New York supposedly has 1/4 of the Coronavirus outbreaks in the United States. Surely every single hospital in New York should be crazy busy if that were the case. If one hospital was overloaded, they would send people to other hospitals.

Just a thought 🤷‍♂️

EDIt: if you could, it would be awesome to know what “pretty bad” means pertaining to where your cousin works. Are we talking an extra 10-20 people per day in the ICU or 100-200? The news makes it seem like hospitals are packed wall to wall with bodies, which isn’t the case.
