Is any relationship worth it?

You will get different answers from everybody on this one. I think most men (and women) do want some type of romantic relationship. Something to make them feel special. Something to make someone else feel special. There is nothing wrong with this. Its biologically programmed into our human essence to want a family, and to feel loved. Shit, when love is going good - its great. There is almost nothing to mimic that feeling.

The problems stem from our modern gynocentric based society and all the "evils" that come along with it. Men are seen as inherently bad. Women can do nothing wrong. Family courts are biased against fathers. Social media has spiked narcissism to levels never before seen. False sexual assault allegations (#MeToo). It is as easy as swiping right on our phones to find new lovers, ect, ect.

There are different levels of MGTOW too, at least for me. Some men will never date or deal with women again. Some are just starting out on their MGTOW path. Some claim to be MGTOW but are actually just involuntarily celibate. Each man has a different take due to his choices and experiences.

To me, being "MGTOW" means defining your life on your own terms. I still see women from time to time when the urges get strong. Whether its a decent escort, or a 6 month not-too-serious relationship is up to how I feel. The most important thing though is to always be aware that things can get really ugly, really fast. To always be one step ahead, and to keep boundaries, and never cave in too much. Women know how to manipulate men - and its usually through the use of their sexuality. If you understand this, and the risks involved, you can always take chances and live your life how you choose. Some men might not agree, but I don't care because I am living my life the way I want to.

For me, my time is valuable. To be in my life you must be a positive part of it, never negative. My time is happiness, anyone devaluing my time is dropped.

Does a relationship fit into that? Sure, provided it’s not wasting my time.

For me, every relationship that I tried to keep casual (as in she doesn't live with me and I don't support her financially) inevitably ends up at a turning point where she says "where is this relationship going?" meaning she wants to be taken care of. When I don't give a good answer, she usually finds someone else to take care of her.

If my ex didn't pay me rent all those years, and i didn't put that extra money towards the mortgage, i wouldn't have paid off my place at 35.

"Love" is a temporary feeling that waxes and wants. It also causes you to make poor decisions based off emotion. Sure you could date, but if you do I would keep short. Maybe 6 months tops. Don't let yourself "fall in love" with the opposite sex lest you start making shit decisions again and wonder what happened when it ends poorly.

Yes. Sometimes a person can be your soulmate for lack of a better word, without you having to sell said soul. You’ll get along on a level no other comes close to. She’ll expect nothing from you but your company, sexual or not. I’ve seen it plenty. But you will need some self-awareness because there are some people who play the bestie as a long-game tactic.

I've just started my MGTOW journey. It consists of me doing me again, chasing my goals, and not saving any more women who need to be saved. No more damsel in distress.

I'll probably be monk mode for a year. Then in might invite a summer romance in my life if I want. But they will keep their distance.

Then after 5 years or 10 if I find someone who proves me wrong I might choose a forever woman but only with a prenup or no marriage deal.

But right now I am going through my anger stage. I have other things to focus on so I am going to not get distracted and keep going my own way regardless of the temptation and distractions.

Freud suggested that all humans have similar desires that are their priorities and innate they were:

Sex

Children

Feeling of importance

Money

Sleep

Food

A relationship fills 3 of these desires; sex and children and possibly a feeling of importance that is to say feeling respected and special. Some people can find this gratification mainly in themselves through religion or spiritualism or any ideology like MGTOW but some people can't. Decide whether or not you can achieve this desire with or without women.
