I've always been reedy and scrawny as fuck, but it's a look that has sort of worked for me. I had a host of health issues right from birth (born prematurely because the umbilical cord was choking me) and was a pretty awkward sickly kid. Up until college you could always see my ribs and I had an insane metabolism - I really struggled with gaining weight because I could guzzle straight up bacon grease and it would have absolutely no effect on me.

My metabolism has slowed down a bit over the last couple of years, and I've been able to slowly gain enough weight to stop looking like an anorexic junkie. I've set up a small home gym with an ancient elliptical cross trainer from a friend, a decent set of weights and bench. I don't have crazy delusional expectations, I don't hope to get jacked as fuck, I'm not trying to prove a point to anyone. I just want to look healthy and get some meat on my bones and feel good about myself.

Over the last month, I've developed a clear set of abs and my arms have bulked up considerably and I now have well-defined calf muscles. But one area I struggle with is my chest. I think I'm doing something really wrong because despite trying to follow clear instructions on fitness blogs and youtube videos, I don't notice any change to my chest. I feel like there's something wrong with my form but I can't quite tell what I'm doing wrong cause I don't have mirror walls like a gym.

No matter how much I bench, even if I'm just doing push ups, I only feel strain in my arms - biceps, maybe deltoids. My pectoral muscles feel nothing. No sign of soreness/tightness when lifting, no sign of growth. Is it just a slow muscle group to develop? Anyone else have a similar experience? Can you recommend any specific exercises with clear instructions like wrist angles, back arching, foot position etc so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong and how I can specifically target my chest?
