Been married for about a year now. LTR for 3 years prior. All is well. Until today.

I'm currently out of town for work, so my wife and I communicate via Whatsapp, video, voice calls, and, predominantly, messaging.

Earlier, she made an off-hand joke which kind of relates to an issue her and I had around 5 years ago when her and I were dating (before I found TRP.) Honestly, it didn't have anything to do with said issue, I just read into it (it brought up a bad memory involving her and another dude) and I got sensitive (I know... I know..)

First time that something like this has happened since we tied the knot; I'm normally insanely in control of my emotions.

Anyways, long story short (too late) I have been super unresponsive all day and she definitely picked up on it and suspects why.

My question is, how do I play this? I've been silent most of the day, but eventually I'll have to talk to her. Or do I not? Let her sweat it out?

I want to maintain frame and ensure she doesn't smell any jealousy (of which there is none; I am upset because the event in question reminds me of my failure as a man way back when.)

tl;dr - I slipped and had a bitchboy emotion during a long-distance text conversation with my wife and need advice to maintain frame when I talk to her tonight
