If anything, doesn't this just confirm that women are much more socially and sexually aware than men?
I.e., if the man is more attractive, she thinks "shit, I better step up or I may lose him to a hotter woman."
If the woman is more attractive, he thinks "la-da-dee, la-dee-da, I've got it made, no need to change shit."
This explains why so many fat loser husbands stay fat while their wives go out and get laid by more attractive men. Surely they aren't doing anything wrong!
In short: Most (unplugged) men are stupid as fuck.

Yeah, it's called loss aversion or dread.
The study advanced existing research from the Meltzer lab that found marriages tend to be more successful and satisfying when wives are more attractive than their husbands. It examined 113 newlywed couples — married less than four months, average age late 20s, living in the Dallas area — who agreed to be rated on their attractiveness.
Yeah they are both super happy at that point, the man thinks he locked down a hotty, and the woman is feeling safe and secure. Give it 8 years.
