30s hetero male, recently engaged (begrudgingly and reluctantly, of course) to my cohabiting girlfriend of a few years.

I was thinking back over my dating life and I've been broken up by several women over the years and of course it always ended in me being hurt tremendously. Finally a woman has fallen head over heels in love with me (so I guess I'm doing something right).

But here's the kicker: to that younger version of myself in his 20s who was rejected time after time after time...who was passed over for the men who were taller or made more money and had higher social status....I always vowed I'd get even with the women who broke my heart and left me so hurt and heartbroken. So here's the plan: I'm going to continue going along with the engagement all the way up to the wedding date. Then at the altar, I plan to simply no-show for the wedding, leaving her high and dry, while I run like hell for freedom. Screw it.

They say it's a waste of energy to get angry. And that's why I'm instead focusing my energy on getting even. What better way than hurting women at the one event they adore and look forward to more than any other day in their life: the wedding day, an event so outdated and hilariously dumb that it's a wonder it doesn't make more men want to vomit.

It's no secret that getting married is a terrible idea for men, who have by far and away the most to lose from it, and a great idea for women, who stand to gain the most from it.

Mark my words: I will never forget. I never forgot being hurt in my 20s and now that I'm in my 30s, attractive and successful, reasonably wealthy with a fit body, it's time to repay what was done to me in my early dating years.

Can't hardly wait to get even with all the women who've hurt me.
