Glad this sub exists, thanks for posting and thanks for moderating.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm all about metal right now. Especially when I'm down (which, let's be honest, is more often these days -- shout out to other remote workers) nothing comforts me quite like a good Manowar ballad. It's cheesy, but so am I. Anyone else here a romantic? What do y'all listen to?

Also, if you need a good multiplayer game for covid, Deep Rock Galactic is the best. One of the best games I've ever played, actually.

I do like some prog metal from time to time (Dream Theater, Animals as Leaders, Porcupine Tree, Tool, Leprous, newer Opeth), but more often I listen to dark ambient (Abul Mogard, Lustmord, Ugasanie), psydub (Ott, Shulman, Androcell), and jazz (Ibrahim Maalouf, Medeski Martin & Wood, Snarky Puppy, Sons of Kemet).

At the moment I'm all about my electro-swing (Caravan Palace), urban funk (Jungle) and vapor wave (Kavinski). But when I am down, nothing quite gets me the visceral energy to get back up or feel anything at all like Metal music does.
