Long story short, this week feels like a turning point, one that I want and know will turn into a positive, but it's just a bit uncertain.
I'm 24, and have decided to leave my current HR job. I know it is the correct decision. After 4 months I know this isn't for me, the work is mundane, very unsociable, I have little passion/enthusiasm for it and I need to find something that interests me more moving forward.
I know (and fully accept) that I will have to go back to retail temporarily part-time, (heck the money is better than what I'm on currently) but intend to use my extra free time in this to get work experience in the fields that I believe that I want to go into. Plus, I want to explore the alternative career options that I want to consider in full.
At the moment, the options I'm considering are teaching, police, or going into the military. The military appeals most currently, and I am going to speak to my careers office, but I am open to either of the others aswell.
This week has kinda bummed me off though as its a bit uncertain as I handed in my notice letter, and then fell sick immediately afterwards and have been bed-bound all week which hasn't helped me at all. Being off work has knocked me back a bit and made me feel slightly more uncertain.
Sorry if this comes across as a load of mumbo jumbo. I know I will make things work out in the end I just feel anxious about it all. I feel I have a good plan and strategy moving forward in place and going to work like hell to make this next step work for myself.
