You've probably heard it before, but this sub isn't as much about equality as it is championing one sex over the other and pointing fingers at those you disagree with. I posted this earlier in the comments of another thread, but I doubt it'll get much exposure there. Downvote me to hell and beyond, but as long as a single person sees my post and may give their aggressive stance on the MRM a second thought, I don't really give a shit. At least there was an attempt at provoking a real conversation.

There is nothing proactive happening here to better our society (starting with one small community), encourage objective thought and discussion, or establish a plan to target and reduce misdirected anger. It's like the Occupy movement- individuals just bitching because it's cathartic for them.

A few ideas for cleaning things up:

-Host an AMA with a rape victim (*how about a male and a female?).

-Host an AMA with the boyfriend, husband, or family of a rape victim.

-Host an AMA with a social worker.

-Avoid the negative MRM stigma by promoting positive initiatives targeting men's issues, like prostate cancer awareness, veteran's care and benefit information, and financial management/renting/productivity/job hunting information for younger guys setting off of their own after leaving home.

-Start shifting to men-related content that is less incendiary and more fun/engaging, like how to clean a shotgun, what whisky pairs best with a ribeye, and actual relationship advice.

-Focus less on what feminists are saying and doing. It's entirely wasted energy. It's not like they're reading this form and comments are shifting their viewpoints on a particular issue, nor should that even matter to you. What someone thinks about an issue or event is their own damned business. It doesn't, nor will it ever, effect your day to day life (unless you choose to let it). You're choosing to get riled up instead of spending that time learning or doing something you love.

-Stop taking everything so damned seriously. If every post is an "Outrage" post, they tend to kind of lose their impact.

-Act like adults. The shit people say in here...I'd challenge one of the more outspoken posters to say that shit directly to their mom, sister, or grandma. How about doing so while in front of your dad too? Think he'd agree with you about why some girl who drank too much in college and hooked up with a few guys is a worthless slut? No, they'd both be fucking ashamed of you.

This sub has the potential to help men to better themselves. Instead it's a circlejerk for those with a chip on their shoulder. Sure, not everything posted here is in rooted in hate and the opinions you hold may fly amongst your own small group of friends, but expressing your anger over a perceived bias against men out in the real world will result in most pegging you as an asshole and easily serve to harm your career or potential relationships. See and treat people as people. You'd expect the same from them.

TLDR: How about taking a more Ron Swanson sort of approach to "Men's Rights"? Teach inner strength and self-improvement instead of upvoting whiners.

If you happened to be in SF and pissed off at me or this post, let's grab a beer. I'm always up for debate.
