Why when men have issues such as the treatment of SA upon males from female perpetrators or just how much male rape is undermined in general for example, is it not a gender issue; but when something negatively impacts a woman it is, at least according to a multitude of women (and sometimes other men) on the internet? Why is it okay to point out double standards so long as they’re only affecting women, but when I point out a double standard I live and feel being a man I should stay silent? It’s not relevant or okay to bring up double standards at all in that scenario. This is just the general treatment I see daily with men’s issues vs women’s issues. And we shouldn’t compete and there shouldn’t be a gender war but I only see this pointed out when men initiate this, it’s just perfectly acceptable for women to do the same all the time based on what I see daily. The bottom line is, why is it not okay for men to be vocal about our issues and state these things without women thinking we’re taking away the attention on their issues? I’m honestly so sick of it and just wanted to start a conversation regarding this.
