Ok , now this is just chain of thought but stick with me .

I have had a few people on facebook posting about DV awareness month and i read them , I tore to shreds those who went down the usual woman simpering victim man alcholic redneck with a can of beer in one hand and a belt in the other but it did get me thinking about a few things .

Feminist run shelters since the days of Erin Pizzey ( greatest woman ever ! ) have gone down the road of women being the only victims of DV, but its not even just women , it was hetrosexual women only who could be victims of domestic violence as obviously only we evil men could actually do it. We have seen small concessions over the past few years , although it seems like they still find difficulty in discussing female abusers in any regard, straight or lesbian.

This actually did in a weird way cause a chuckle , because we have found something i didnt think existed , an area where we have a link with the L in LGBT month here and an area where we are both pushing forward on in an attempt to get some recognition for victims.

Now we have had the ructions over the LGBT month here on /mr and while i understand the reasons behind it , and in many ways support what has been said , is this not an area where hetrosexual men and the lgbt community are pushing in the same direction ?, that to be seen as worth equal protection to the same standard as hetrosexual women ?
