What do you mean by family oriented? As in inclined to having a family? Has a family now? Wants to be a stay at home dad?

A man who is family oriented has to chose between 3 options

Be a traditional man and have the authority in your house tuning a blind eye/being ignorant of the fact that your authority is a house of cards, able to be toppled over at the slightest whim of the woman you are being family oriented with. This all depends on hope that the woman you chose to father children with won't exercise her advantage and take you children away from you, keeping the house and letting you pay for the privilege.
The same as #1 only this time you know that she holds the power to take it all away from you if she becomes unhappy. The result, you spend the rest of your life keeping her happy. Understand me, this is not a mutual relationship even though it may seem like it on the surface. This is a life of resentment while you placate her whims while muttering under your breath complaints about why she won't reciprocate; but why would she, she has the power and your the just the bitch that can be replaced by a vibrator, government assistance and child support check.
Don't have kids. The safe rout but ultimately unsatisfying for a family oriented man who would like to be a father. Unfortunately, in a world where men have no reproductive rights but seemingly limitless reproductive responsibility the choices seem limited to these 3.

So in the end, a family oriented man faces a lose-lose-lose proposition and each man gets to chose his own poison. Is it any wonder that more men are refusing to marry?
