here is a video of Milo Yiannopolous debating someone who is using that argument, although she never quotes a source. The argument against it is that men have been socially conditioned to be competitive and embrace challenges, while women have not. So the problem isn't a hostile environment when it comes to engineering (at my school, women in engineering are practically worshiped by their male colleagues), but rather that instead of embracing the challenges, women would prefer it to just be easier, because society has not until recently begun to encourage competition and ambition in young women. It's sad because young women need to embrace competition and ambition from a young age in order to compete in the work force (and some do), but feminists like these would prefer that young men be deterred from competition instead, and that this is somehow "equal".

That helps to answer your question, but I as well think it's difficult to say whether or not AA should be "banned". Perhaps you could find evidence of it being largely ineffective, but the scope of AA and its effectiveness is extremely variable across industries.

If you want to focus on a particular industry, I would guess that less specialized industries like the arts, liberal arts, etc., will have made more use of AA than more specialized industries like STEM, where no one gives a fuck what's between your legs so long as you know what you're doing.

It's hard to make an argument against AA because it would be mostly based on speculation.

Minimum sat scores were shown for different ethic groups to enter a university, Harvard I believe. If anything they, proved that sat scores alone would mean having an entirely Asian campus.

For jobs you'd have to prove that the individuals benefitting from AA are actually the ones leaving the field for this to even have a chance of working.

. You'd also have to know how much AA plays into hiring a person. Some companies, for example, target 20% hiring of women, which actually represents the percentage of women graduating from these fields. They usually fall below its metric because women don't pursue jobs in the field (a lot of people don't). But knowing who or how many are actually hired based on AA vs merit is near impossible without inside knowledge.
