Holy shit, that poor guy. This post stood out:

" People say all the time "a child would never lie about something like that", and that's so obviously not true, that it's clearly a biased position. Kids lie all the time, because they have no concept of the consequences."

I have friends who are teachers and they certainly don't think kids never lie about these things. They have seen colleagues destroyed by false accusations. One teacher was repeatedly targeted. Each accusation was disproven but in the end it didn't matter. He just couldn't carry on and he left the profession.

We need to discover the presumption of innocence and rigor in investigations. It's sad this even needs to be said. But it does.

My daughter is 24 now and she's sorry now. She wants a relationship with me now. But I've really distanced myself from everything and I don't want a relationship with her anymore. But my wife thinks I'm being unfair and I should give my daughter a chance. AITA here?

Unfortunately, it's entirely possible that she wants to accuse you again. You know she can and will do it. And I'll bet she never apologized. The risk seems high, the reward, if any, uncertain.

She was 16. As in a teenager. As in she didn't fully grasp what she was doing.
