The Truth about Feminism is they just don't care about men or equality at all. It's about privileges for themselves.

The statistics suggest working-age disabled women like Ginny are more than 11 times more likely to die from coronavirus than their peers. For disabled men, the death rate was 6.5 times higher than non-disabled men.

These figures are deeply suspect due to the known fact that 70% of all victims are male.

Mm, I can see how it would work. Consider the following:

  1. Men are far more likely both to contract and to die from the virus than women.
  2. Disabled people often have much weaker immune systems than fully able people from their otherwise-same demographic group.
  3. The weakening of such immune systems easily could be more pronounced in women, as theirs have "farther to fall," so to speak.
  4. Therefore, the dropoff in health and survival for disabled women could be much sharper than for men even though by the raw percentages probably disabled men are still at considerably greater risk than women.

After all, measuring the rate of change when going from one sub-group to another is quite different from measuring the straight rate of disease-contraction and/or death. So the statistics themselves might be accurate even though the narrative they're trying to spin with the statistics is a total, total lie. That's stats for ya...

I thought it might be some kind of BS like that. If basically all disabled men that get it die, but most women in general live, that's a huge cap on that number because it can't go higher than 100%.

There you go. You see how motivated people can lie with math without ever actually giving any false numbers?

Once you learn how to see it, you find it everywhere, especially in news media. Their narrative-manipulation games depend heavily on readers' innumeracy.

This could easily be explained if the "normal" death rate for women is lower.

Going from 1 to 11 is 11x increase. Going from 2 to 12 is a 6x increase. The initial rate is twice as high in the second example and so is the overall rate.

This is just the typical lack of understanding (or intentional manipulation) of numbers that you can see almost every day.
