Mm, I can see how it would work. Consider the following:

Men are far more likely both to contract and to die from the virus than women.
Disabled people often have much weaker immune systems than fully able people from their otherwise-same demographic group.
The weakening of such immune systems easily could be more pronounced in women, as theirs have "farther to fall," so to speak.
Therefore, the dropoff in health and survival for disabled women could be much sharper than for men even though by the raw percentages probably disabled men are still at considerably greater risk than women.

After all, measuring the rate of change when going from one sub-group to another is quite different from measuring the straight rate of disease-contraction and/or death. So the statistics themselves might be accurate even though the narrative they're trying to spin with the statistics is a total, total lie. That's stats for ya...
