I'll keep it short since I don't have a lot of smart things to say.

But I'll start by saying that I believe all health problems matter and that breast cancer awareness is necessary.

Now for the other part. I go to a pretty good highschool in my country(Croatia). Today the teacher said we can skip school if we go to a conference in a city hall. Half of us went. But the thing is. They told us it's about stress and how to cope with it. We came there only to find out that it is actually for breast cancer.

I understand it's necessary but I don't think telling us one thing and finding out that it's about something else is fair. A small portion of the lecture was about a healthy lifestyle and stress but mostly about the other stuff concerning women. Men were mentioned once in the whole 2 hours. Just as a pass-by note. Nothing about them. We don't get out day here, no prostate cancer awareness, testicular cancer etc... nothing. When we speak about it it's seen as undermining women's struggles.

I find it insanely unfair how men never get any kind of lectures about their health. No conferences on how to check for cancer in yourself, nothing to spread awareness. As a cancer survivor(skin cancer, different kind but still) I find it very discouraging.

As a man I've always had to be seen as strong and therefore I neglected my health. I only had the checkup and found out I have cancer because of genetic disorders. If I didn't have it I wouldn't have gone to check and maybe it could have been much worse.

The post highlights several different problems men face in society. Mostly unrelated but thank you for reading. Feel free to comment anything I'll discuss it with you in the comments. Thank you for reading my little rant.

Have a blessed day and good luck.
