Just been watching the reviews of our FAVOURITE TV series and oh boy are there some crazy generalisations on there. Now of course no one in the mainstream cares, but anyway, here are a few rebuttals:

  • men who look like me do NOT have 'unfettered' power in society. If Naomi Alderman thinks that, then how does she explain the homeless men on our streets, the low income men in the Projects/Estates and the poor souls in ICU on their deathbeds? Doesn't make sense does it?
  • it DOES matter what a man looks like in the media. He may not have to worry about his shoes or lipstick but remember Jordan Petersen? Why do they think he always wears suits? Why did Tony Stark always wear suits in the Iron Man movies? And why were his male co stars always oiled, jacked, tanned and toned. Because appearances do matter: for EVERYONE!
  • people DO understand women's struggles as commentators have whined about them incessantly on TV, the Internet, in books and magazines EVERY DARN DAY.

Anyway that s my rant for today. I'm sure they ll be plenty more crap to complain about next season but boy oh boy do people need to open their eyes more.
