Note the lack of a quantifier in that statement..
No "Some" or "Many" or "A Few" etc

And yet when we point this out the common defense is "We don't mean ALL men..
Well when your statement fails to quantify how many men you are talking about.. the default assumption is that you are talking about "ALL" men..

Nice false equivalency fallacy there..
If this were a private establishment I would be agreeing with them..
But this is a PUBLIC place, a museum, a place people go to experience art..

If there's an area in which a particular group is not allowed to go then why should they have to pay full price for entry?
Also.. you can't argue for equality while discriminating against people based upon their gender..

Stop trying to get men to feel collective guilt for shit they never did..

Also I love how the article skips over the fact that there was a Feminist cafe in Australia which prioritized women over men and charged men more for the same goods and services..
I'm sure that cafe would have claimed exemption on the grounds of women having suffered from discrimination..

That cafe eventually went out of business but there was no real backlash against the blatant discrimination against men going on..
But if some blokes were to open a cafe and do the exact same thing to women? well then, they would probably get shut down for discrimination within a week...

Gotta love those double standards eh?

I think we're at the Awareness stage of Men's Rights.

Men and women have always been advantaged / disadvantaged in different areas, e.g., men traditionally had more career opportunities, and women got custody/alimony in divorce cases.

The result was clearly gender-based, but designed to create a balance.

But now that women have made progress (earning advantages) in some areas, men are refusing to continue absorbing the accompanying disadvantages.

I noticed nobody has pointed this out yet....

Mona’s legal team will be relying on the tribunal’s interpretation of section 26 of Tasmania’s Anti-Discrimination Act, under which a person is permitted to discriminate against another person in a situation designed to promote equal opportunity for a group of people who are disadvantaged or have a special need because of a prescribed attribute – in this case gender.

So discrimination against men is systemically legal in Tasmania.

I was watching the news a few months back. The topic was space... The commentator said, "we need to get as many women & persons of color in space as quickly as possible." I thought, "What?" Imagine if the commentator said the opposite, "we need to get as many white men in space as quickly as possible." It's all reverse discrimination nowadays.. I am very aware of it, but the majority are not aware of it. White men are the new n_gger...

Please, use quotation marks to write these type of titles, otherwise it sounds like you are defending this idea.

Also: the woman said that the "experience of rejection is the artwork", not the rejection itself:

[Jason] Lau argued that denying men access to some of the museum’s most important works (there is a Sidney Nolan, a Pablo Picasso and a trove of antiquities from Mesopotamia, Central America and Africa in the women-only space) is discriminatory. Kaechele [the artist] said that was the point.

“The men are experiencing Ladies Lounge, their experience of rejection _is_ the artwork,” she said.

“OK, they experience the artwork differently than women, but men are certainly experiencing the artwork as it’s intended.”

Please, try to understand the article before posting because now you look like you really are supporting the artist since it's the concept of her piece and her husband owns the Mona:

Kirsha Kaechele’s installation Ladies Lounge opened in Hobart’s Museum of Old and New Art (Mona) in 2020, and sees women who enter the space being pampered by male butlers and served champagne while being surrounded by some of the museum’s finest pieces of art. Those who do not identify as women are not permitted entry.
