Growing up the in the indie rock scene and having played in bands for years, one thing always killed me. The women in this scene would bitch about patriarchy, misogyny and gay bashing, then jump in their Volkswagen Bug paid for by daddy and bump 50 cent or Lil' John.

Bikini Kill is awesome, you're a fuck. Also that's a very literal take on that song.

If we're talking about angry girl music, I really like Babes in Toyland.

Kathleen Hannah of Bikini Kill also went on to make the extremely danceable Le Tigre.

It's also blasphemy to say or whatever but I always thought Hole was more interesting than Nirvana, which itself had some connections to the riot grrrl scene and was actually pretty feminist as a response to the shitty hair rock of '80s.

Then there's the obvious, Sleater-Kinney. And Sonic Youth's Kool Thing is kool duh.
