I recall hearing that 40% of those injured by domestic violence are men, which is pretty close to your figures. Sorry, but I don't know the source. Here's a source that says on page 1 that 35% of domestically abused men suffer serious injury though. http://www.saveservices.org/pdf/SAVE-VAWA-Discriminates-Against-Males.pdf
