I would not get married in today's UK legal climate. It is not a good deal at all for men. If no children are involved it is probably easier to divorce but even then the courts seems to give big settlements to females but not to males.

If children are involved the wife has all the aces. It is very likely she will get custody of the children and then will make false allegations or just be difficult about giving the ex husband access. As for the money that a divorced man has to pay out it is outrageous.

This is a really cynical, over-generalizing article. That being said, it does bring up some good points.

Namely, the stigma associated with men and marriage. There seems to be no socially acceptable reason why men would choose not to marry. To make things worse - I'm divorced. To people who are just learning that about me, they always always ALWAYS assume that I fucked up my marriage somehow. The fact that my ex-wife had unprotected sex with strangers and took in enough cum to open her own sperm bank does not factor into it - as it shouldn't, because its none of anyone's business... But no, divorce is always the man's fault, and divorced women should be pitied. Right.
