What are some examples of internalized misandry that you have ever experienced, witnessed, or have known about?

For example:

  1. Hesitating to defend your boundaries for fear of harming your aggressor?

  2. Feeling guilty about reactive violence in a state of psychological distress even when it didn't leave a bruise or a scratch in response to intense coercive control?

  3. Feeling guilty about being rude for raising your voice at a women to defend your boundaries against persistent stalking, trespassing, etc.?

  4. Hesitating to call police for fear of consequences for your aggressor.

  5. When left with no other choice but self defense that could potentially result in unintentional injury for the aggressor or a the aggressor harming herself in the case of a suicide threat, or complying with her wishes, you complied even against your most deeply held beliefs and then blamed yourself for being too weak to assert your boundaries.

  6. Struggled to recognize yourself as a victim because she never directly threatened your physical safety even if her behaviour pushed you to a suicide attempt.
