You can skip the article. In a park, separately, are a six year old girl, a six year old boy, a dog and a cat. The animals are leashed. To no one's surprise, the girl is 'rescued' rather quickly. Next is the dog, then the cat. No one checks on the boy, and the experiment is called off after 45 minutes.

It's sad that this isn't surprising to most of us here.
