And that's a fact!
[–]LifeAboutNothing 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Naw that's a big fact!
[–]TonDonberry 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'd love to see this on the front page
[–]heavywepsguy 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Facts matter.

To jail with them for false rape allegations.
[–]benis_wenis 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think however long the man was sentenced to she should serve. Even if he didn’t serve it all, let’s say he was sentenced to 20 years but turns out she was lying after just 2, she now goes to jail for 20 with no bail or parole or anything. That way they’ll stop lying, however I think it may have the side effect of them never admitting they lied about it afterwards.
[–]sbp1991 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Definitely. I would like to see some justice.
[–]knutarnesel 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Do we need this low effort stuff? I don't think this is helping our case. Just seems hysteric like the new wave feminists.
[–]pomegranate2012 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
100% agree.
The use of “women" is particularly bad.
If it was "people should go to jail for false rape allegations" then maybe it would be making some kind of a point.
But this gender-specific stuff makes the sub look as bad as feminism.
[–]benis_wenis 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
When have you heard of a male falsely accusing a female of rape and actually getting her sent to jail?
[–]pomegranate2012 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Why don't you just say what you mean instead of asking rhetorical questions?
[–]benis_wenis 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
That’s not rhetorical, I’m actually asking.
[–]pomegranate2012 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I've never heard of that.
So now what?
[–]benis_wenis 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
So that’s why I say women. They are primarily the ones who do it, it’s the same as saying BLM instead of saying ALM, because black lives are the most effected at the moment.
[–]pomegranate2012 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Ok.
So you're the guy who says "Black lives matter!"
And if someone says "All lives matter"
You say "Racist!"
Uh no I’m the guy who would say ALM but I wouldn’t get mad at someone who said BLM or try to correct them by replying ALM
[–]knutarnesel 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
It's making a point, it's just the effort being put into it which is the problem. As far as I know, false rape accusations against women are essentially non existent, but if it happens it certainly shouldn't. The reason why a lot of things here are phrased in a gender specific way is because the public discourse either purposely or by ignorance exclude men.

I disagree.
I think there are a percentage of posters on this sub - let's say 10% for the sake of argument - who are the male equivalent of feminists.
- a man who can't get a decent girlfriend and so blames all women.
- a man who is totally obsessed with rape.
- a man who posts screenshots of Twitter posts to make a point of how bad women are and how oppressed men are based on one crazy person on Twitter.
I don't think it's setting the bar too high to ban all Twitter screenshot posts from the sub on the basis of trying to be slightly more legitimate than r/Feminism
[–]knutarnesel 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Sure, there are extremes. But these men don't have the mainstream influence which the feminists have. And I see among my social circles that it's becoming more and more prevalent for people, especially young women to hold these semi extreme views. Have you ever tried to bring up men's rights in a young crowd? It's suicide.
[–]pomegranate2012 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, I totally agree.
I was just talking about this sub. And the people who post on this sub.
If you want men's rights to be more acceptable, then making r/MensRights more legitimate would be a good start, right?
Low-effort posts and Twitter screenshots bring down the intellectual level that, I believe, the sub should be aiming for.
[–]knutarnesel 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The "problem" is that for every few low effort screenshot, there's a screenshot of someone on Twitter saying something absolutely benign and discriminating towards men with thousands if not hundred thousands of likes. But I agree, we should aim higher, or else it would be pragmatic hypocrisy. Remember to speak up on and downvote low effort posts.
[–]pomegranate2012 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I know.
Insulting all men or criticizing all men is socially acceptable on social media, mainstream media and society.
Insulting or criticizing a single women is socially unacceptable on social media, mainstream media and society.
But, we don't get into heaven on the sins of others.
Lowering ourselves to using the tactics of feminists would be the ultimate error.
Let's agree to keep upvoting solid posts that cite reliable sources.
And let's not be too surprised when people say this is a "hate sub" when there are people posting social media screenshots, or posts that specifically criticize or demonize women that are actually getting upvoted.
Even if these low-effort posts do make a point. Even if you might agree with them to a degree. A post on r/MensRights has to work ten times as hard as a post on r/Feminism to make an impact.
"But feminists do that too!" should not be an acceptable excuse.
[–]pomegranate2012 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oof.
This is almost as bad as putting a "clap" emoji between each word.
[–]Moronic-Simpleton 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Unfortunately it can be really hard to prove. Sometimes you can’t really prove if it happened or if it didn’t.
[–]YuNg_KiNgK 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Okay? Women who lie should go to jail
[–]Moronic-Simpleton 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes. What I was saying is that it can be really hard to prove a woman lied. In a lot of cases, you wouldn’t be able to incarcerate the supposed rapist or the supposed false accuser, because you don’t have proof for neither. But yes, it should be a rule of the law that false accusers go to jail, it will take decades of fighting feminists, but I think it will happen one day.
And notice I said false accuser instead of women, because if one day we reach True Equality, there will be as many women falsely accusing men as men falsely accusing women. An egalitarian utopia.
[–]TehReedster89 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You seem to be stuck on whether it can be proved. But I feel like that's implied. Like if people say "murderers should go to jail," wouldn't you just agree? Why would you stop and keep saying that it is sometimes hard to prove a murder? That's a given. We are talking about cases where it can be proven, that the punishment should be jail, rather than a slap on the wrist.
If it isn't clear, I do not think that a "not guilty" verdict should result in the accuser going to jail. That would be ridiculous. What I think is that when it can be proven that an accusation was false and malicious, the punishment should be harsher than it is right now.
[–]benis_wenis 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
True, but hopefully they would never lie about it in the first place if they knew the consequences of it.
