False accusations in sexism, when being accepted as true, become social justification for men-hating and even for discrimination against men and boys, that would be regarded as "corrective" because of the belief of their "wrongdoing" based on the false allegations in sexism. Two nice examples that cross my mind:
The word history. Feminists have a deep-seated belief that the true lingual meaning and source of the word is "his story", and they regard it as concrete evidence for the sexism of men (for whom, according to this interpretation, women don't exist as humans and the human past is entirely of men). The origin of the word History is the French word Histoire (read: "east-whar") which simply means story (the same word exists in other European languages). The allegation that the word for history is in fact an exclusion of all women from the human past by men through naming the human past as "his story" - feminists truly believe in this interpretation - is a false accusation of sexism.
The word sun. Apparently many feminists believe that the word comes from the word Son, and represents a patriarchal presentation of maleness as the center of the human world. Actually the sun is a female goddess. In Norse mythology, for example, Sol, also called Sunna, is the goddess of the sun, while her brother, Mani, is the god of the moon. Sol rides a chariot that is drawn by two golden horses.
These are just two examples of false accusations of sexism, which when taken together with all other instances of such false accusations, as a social phenomenon, causes unjustified consequences for men and boys, such as resentment toward them or hate, that sometimes lead to discrimination, which is perceived as "justified" due to the belief in false accusations of sexism.
Do you have other examples of false accusations of sexism?
