I know this isn't a popular opinion on this subreddit, but for the most part the system actually works.

I spend a lot of time in Family Court rooms, and fathers are only really denied access in rare circumstances where they pose a threat to the child's safety.

The biggest impediment to 50/50 parenting time, in my opinion, isn't court bias per se, but that men tend to work longer and inflexible hours. Why should a child stay with dad every 2nd week if Dad isn't home until after 6? Families tend to enter the court system with Dad working long hours, and mom working short hours. The system preserves the status quo with dad earning the money (and paying support), and mom caring for the kids.

I'm glad you got your day in court, and I am glad it went well. Enjoy your time with your daughter!
