It's kind of incredible isn't it? I think society has for so long seen men as a disposable resource (the worker bees), and depended on it, that actually transitioning to a mindset where men's lives and existence is valuable would cause too many heads to explode, as the scale and extent of the human rights violations become apparent.

It's like elements of patriarchy (responsibility, disposability) have combined with feminism (demonization, stripping of rights) to create this perfect storm of human rights denial, or in a sense even denial of basic status of human being.

I sometimes wonder how long certain laws (divorce, custody, alimony, child support etc) would last if even a small number of women faced the kind of outcomes men face on a daily basis. Imagine a woman working half her life, paying off a house and raising small children, only to have her husband "divorce" her, leaving her living out of the boot of her car, kicked out of her home, denied all access to see her children ever again (either by order or lack of enforcement of visitation), paying 90% of her income in tax, alimony and child support, jailed if falling behind on one payment...it would probably only take a single case to be instant worldwide news, with politicians falling over themselves to correct this horrendous violation of "women's rights". They tolerate it against men because...well they are men and there is no such thing as "men's rights", and the concept of human rights applied to men as a group sounds like an absurdity.
