Whenever you bring up that men also face gender discrimination and can absolutely be discriminated against for being men and that women can also be sexist to them, you get the usual retorts from misandrist idiots who'll say nonsense like "Men don't have the oppressive history women do" or "Men always have it easy" and another one I especially hate "Men don't have to fear for their lives and safety when they're out at night. I mean WTF, these idiots aren't even hiding their obvious misandry and disdain for men. I'm not denying there was a time long ago women had it difficult but they've never had to be drafted unlike men. You want to talk about oppressive history, how about the many soldiers who didn't even want to go to Vietnam who got drafted to fight and die in a war they didn't agree with and got exposed to things like napalm, Agent Orange, etc. and those who got left behind. Also in the first World War those who came back with their terrible injuries and suffering from the ill effects of things like mustard gas. Even as a kid when I heard how men must register after turning 18 with the selective service and if they don't they can be arrested and imprisoned, I couldn't fathom how that could be legal when it's clear discrimination.
Don't get me started on the "alone at night" argument. Both men and women alike are equally vulnerable when out and women can be just as predatory and deadly to men as men are to them, but this is always downplayed and brushed aside to promote the "women most affected, men don't matter" agenda they have that unfortunately they've succeeded in spreading. And when they retort with stuff like "Why is it you only ever bring this up when women share their experiences," well it's largely due to the fact it's never brought up or given any sort of attention or activism, and there's never any awareness raised about it. Also how any sort of female on male violence is still a very taboo subject and whenever we bring it up they always retort with the "It's nowhere near the same scale" argument, which holds no matter since statistics are vague and unreliable on FOM violence.
Neither gender has ever had it perfect in life and still don't, but at least women get all sorts of aid and support and attention raised for their problems, which itself is not a bad thing. But unfortunately men are never part of the same equation and always have their issues trivialized and made to not matter, and it's so infuriating. I hate it so much when they use the "men have never been oppressed at any point in time or history" argument, which is a not very subtle way of them just flat-out saying they hate men and never want their issues and problems to ever be addressed or taken into account. They've shown time and time again to not want actual equality.
