Hey, folks! Wanted to say I had a second protest of Georgia's sexual assault laws. It went well enough and I'd encourage others to do the same for whatever facet of MR they find important. I made a thread for the first protest as well that has previous discussion and definitions of the laws in GA. In short, GA rape law only recognizes forceful rape of women by men. Not only does it ignore female offenders, it doesn't recognize instances of non-physical coercion as rape specifically.

In any case, here's a short rundown of how it went if you're interested. I went out to a busy intersection in my town with a sign and stood out there for a couple of hours. It did end up raining about halfway through, and I had to leave eventually because my sign was falling apart.

I had someone from the police department come by and ask me to move to a different part of the intersection since I was on those concrete "islands" for crosswalks. He also asked what the problem with the law was, so I got a chance to explain which was good. While I did so, he took a photo or video with his phone, which I hope is due to the novelty of the situation rather than something less positive. He also asked why I was doing the protest, to which I said "Because no one is talking about it." He nodded and said that was a good reason in a "fair enough" kind of way. After I moved to the side of the road we shook hands, he told me to keep doin' what I'm doin' and left.

Overall pretty good, if a bit damp. Aside from one old guy who said I don't have balls, I didn't get hassled by anyone.

I'm considering having one at a courthouse or PD at some point, but I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet haha
