The CONRAD report is better. It notes that controlling for all factors that can be controlled for there is a 3-7% gap remaining, but other unknown factors might be the cause of it and it found it dubious to claim the gap is based on discrimination or warranting corrective measures as no comprehensive study has found such.

It's a proper apples-to-apples study, i.e. men & women in the exact same jobs at the same companies. It's a big study: 8.7 million employees across 33 countries. Result: unexplained gender pay gap of just 1.6%.

Possible cause of that remaining gap: women take more vacation time than men do, on average, even if they don't have kids. An extra 3 days per year of vacation time would explain a 1.5% earnings gap.

DO NOT GET DERAILED BY THE "GLASS CEILING" ARGUMENT.

Feminist are catching on that pay gap is being disproven more and more in the mainstream, so to combat this, they've adopted a new theory in which they can filter the myth of the pay gap through and that theory is the glass ceiling. Make sure if that comes up, you lay the burden of proof on your opponent.

God I wish I had you guys earlier. I'll give you a run down of how it went down, their arguments switched multiple times so that's why I'm formatting like this

Argument 1 Me: So all of you are saying that all women across the board make more than women for the same position because men are men?

3 girls: Yes! Me: So does that include your current place of work? If so let's all message them and leave a complaint to the department of labor because that's illegal

3girls: hostility and backtracking

Argument point 2

Is basically a back and forth saying that me showing how, based on department of labor statistics, women on average work 30 min less than men per day when working full time jobs. Then they say that amount of difference doesn't account for the full gap.

Argument 3

Me: here are the other reasons for the gap backed with statistics

Them:this still says women are paid less than men. Just because a women has a family, doesn't mean she should be paid less than a man. A woman should not have to choose between a career and a family.

you know who else have families? Men. ( that's a direct quote)

Them (direct quote): There are women who work those extra 30 minutes and more AND still go home and take care of her children AND still get paid less.

Thing 1: You're right, I didn't read the 95 page document. The information is hard to understand, I am not very familiar with analytics, which I am assuming you aren't either, because the thing you just pasted to your comment basically says nothing. That there are reasons (including health benefits and motherhood) that contribute to lower pay for women.

It is not possible to produce a reliable estimate of the aggregate portion of the raw gender gap. But those factors contribute to it.

This does not help your argument.

Thing 1:Either way, like I said, I can't argue with you because you will never understand the struggle of a nonwhite or female. And you explained why you refuse to understand how racism and sexism plays a huge roll in the everyday lives of our communities.
