What an abusive and manipulative woman you had the absolute misfortune of dating. This doesn't ruin her life, it ruins yours. I do not know how any person with even a basic level of human decency can live with themselves and not be crippled by immense guilt after twisting a situation and telling a false narration to destroy a mans, or anybodys life.

Current times are very unsafe and uncertain for men and boys. There are a lot of cases that I have seen where a man is unfairly demonised or blamed, but I'm sure the police will find zero evidence that backs up that womans imaginary and made up story. Try to not to worry about it and don't let it make you sick. Carry on, distract yourself, see how it plays out.

If by any chance, the police try to frame you or claim to have found evidence, try to get yourself a lawyer, preferably one that has worked for falsely accused men before. I'm not entirely certain, but I'm sure there may be at least a few organisations in the UK or lawyers that will be willing to help you even if you cannot offer them much in regards to fees.

I'm sorry you are going through this hell and please, never beg anyone to get back together with you. There's a reason it didn't work out.

I've been looking a little into coercive control laws in the UK because my Australian state is introducing them.

A little something to help you stress less:

From a study that reviewed media reports so very flawed and it assumes feminst views, but still... (don't bother reading, itll frustrate not help. points you need are summarised below.)

around 80% of convicted coercive Controllers were also physical or sexual abusers, (about 45% were convicted of both.) And another 10ish% made threats of violence. So not having done that is a point in your favour. (Assuming she doesn't lie about that too)
of the offenders found guilty 73% pled guilty.

The extremity of the behaviours that constituted the controlling or coercive behaviour in the cases analysed, with offenders keeping their partners under surveillance, forbidding them from being employed, taking their mobile phones, prohibiting or monitor- ing their use of social media and killing pet animals, suggests that police and/or the Crown Prosecution Service have adopted a high hurdle for determining what constitutes offending behaviour.

Also, what she's doing is considered administrative/systems abuse, and is illegal under the same law.

I wouldn't try to charge her with it though, it's unlikely to go anywhere for the same reasons her complaint is, and because she's a woman and( only about 1woman a year seem to get convicted, usually for really extreme abuse.)

All that said, here's the annoying bit, about how this technicaly gender neutral law is in practice being gendered.

Also The near-exclusive prosecution of men for this offence is likely at least partly attributable to police and prosecutors having been sensitised by statutory guidance issued by the Home Office (2015), which draws attention to the gendered nature of intimate part- ner abuse

So yea, likely they'll investigate, find its nothing and not press charges. she's committing systems abuse but she also won't be charged with it, so, as long as your safe I'd let that slide.

haha you’re right so far though as its pre charge bail theres nothing but waiting. i was just looking to see if anyone had been through this new law or have any support or ideas
