I bet the cops were real proud of themselves that night for white knighting for the ex-girlfriend who lied. "Intimidate a defenseless, scared woman, huh? Here's some intimidation, fear, and pain right back!" Except he was totally innocent, something the cops never even stopped to consider! If someone says something happened in a public place like a gas station that is known to have cameras, why didn't they go look at the tapes BEFORE "arresting" (read: "beating the crap out of") her ex-boyfriend?

Ten miles from where I live. I'm appalled, my general area has always had good quality policemen who do good things; I've never heard of a single problem in the area with officers. Also why is Dr. Cox mentioned but not the name of the woman?

The Police Chief should be fired, along with all the officers involved. At some point, there must be respect for the law, and the citizens, and that organization does not have it. (And not just because they permitted themselves to be used by a woman making a false complaint... this force is unacceptable in this situation regardless).

Further, the ex should be charged with a crime, because this goes beyond filing a false report. She used the police as a weapon.
