This not going to be a hot take, but it bothered me enough that I felt I needed to post.
The show “New Girl” has an episode where one of the protagonists’ exes (a woman) demands an explanation for their relationship ending. When he doesn’t give her what she wants, she proceeds to follow him, destroy his car, and eventually breaks into his apartment to get her answer.
After committing multiple crimes (any of which a man would have been immediately arrested for) the male protagonist (Nick) is STILL painted as the bad guy for not giving her an explanation for ending the relationship.
Of course, this is all a work of fiction, but it’s not all that different from the things a lot of women do to men when they don’t get their way IRL. This sort of behavior should absolutely not be glorified or normalized in media, because too many women subconsciously internalize this, then we suffer the consequences when they throw a fit.
Just needed to get this thought out of my head. Have a good day gents.
