No, the underlying problem with feminist ideology is that it's hate.

Intersectionality is more like an ad campaign for feminism. Women have no issues so feminists pretend to care for other people's issues. It's called co-opting. Feminists co-opt the legitimate issues of genuinely oppressed or disadvantaged groups to support their own movement's agenda at the expense of the minority groups. That way they don't have to constantly answer "so where exactly are women disadvantaged?" which is nowhere. Note that these minority groups often do see what is going on which is why there's a long history of argument and hostility within feminism from gay men, black women and especially trans people. Of course back in the day the feminists hated on gay women too.

Feminism was started by privileged, white, well-educated, affluent women who claimed victim status while ignoring or denying problems of others, such as the poor, victims of racial prejudice, the disabled, or the uneducated, even if they were women. Intersectionality is meant to erase that history.

I don't think it's the underlying problem. It just makes things worse. It's a power grab for a particular breed of activists to gain control of the others.

It takes people who already hated white people, combines them with people who already hated men, and turns them into one large unified group of people who hate white men (and gives the egomaniacs behind it control of a larger cult). It's been effective, so I'll give them that.

No, I wouldn't say so - though it depends on what you think it means.

In principle, there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve the life chances of people who are disadvantaged in one way or another - in fact, on the face of it, it seems like quite a good thing.

However, for me the problem is:

a) with how they define the problem

b) what they propose as a solution

Neither a) nor b) are specific to intersectionality.

The idea or the concept behind intersectionality has been around since at least the 1960s - and very likely before even that - but the actual term is generally thought to have been coined by US academic feminist Kimberle Williams Crenshaw in the 1980s.

The underlying problem is that feminists are still old fashioned damseling shitheads.

They still think women are "special creatures", which is really contradictory to the entire concept of equality in the first place.
