I’ve been seeing a lot of talk lately about what constitutes a life because of the Texas fetal heartbeat law. If you aren’t familiar, it’s a law that allows private citizens to sue anyone who aids a woman (but not the woman herself) with executing and evacuating a fetus with a detectable heartbeat. This only gives women a number of weeks to test themselves and get an abortion. This is a problem as typically women do not proactively test themselves and just wait to find out they are pregnant.

A lot of the discussion centers on what is a life. I saw one person suggest detestable brain functions because that’s what allows you to pull the plug on someone (which I’m sure if you knew the person would have brain function in 9 months you wouldn’t pull the plug but it may not have been a good argument). One thing that is clear is women do not seem to believe life begins at conception. Which begs the question, why are men then responsible for the lifestyle choices a woman makes?

The spermatozoa does not contain enough genetic material to create a life, an egg does. Men are only involved with conception which is not creating a life. A life is created by a woman providing nourishment to a fetus.

It’s time men stand up and throw off the shackles of slavery. We are being forced to support women for the choices they make. Whatever happened to consent?

Men do not have any role in creating life. Men create a zygote, which isn’t even important enough to warrant not killing (inside the womb, obviously if you don’t execute before evacuation you aren’t allowed to execute it later, that’s a crime).

We need reforms to protect men. Its time for women who support the right for abortion to stand up and take responsibility for their choices. Say no more to slavery. End compulsory child support. Thanks for coming to my TeddyX talk.
