The title is misleading. The decision by the court is that they don’t have the authority to overrule an existing decision from the Supreme Court from the ‘80s.

The real (positive) news here is this:

Earlier this year — after the arguments before the 5th Circuit — a federal commission recommended including women in the military draft system.

“The Commission concluded that the time is right to extend Selective Service System registration to include men and women, between the ages of 18 and 26. This is a necessary and fair step, making it possible to draw on the talent of a unified Nation in a time of national emergency,” the commission’s final report said.

Feminists successfully lobbied for women to be in the military, and now also in combat in the use. If the military claimed women cannot do it, then the military would not have women do things that the women cannot do. The fact that women are doing this means that the military recognizes that they can do it.

Not forcing women to be draft means the following:

Men are capable of serving in the military and should be forced to do so.

Women are capable of serving in the military and should not be forced to do so because they are women.

In other words, forced labor of men is fine

The draft is the reason men got the vote. The logic was that if a government can compel you to go to war, it has to give you the right to vote and have a say. This is why women originally could not vote, and most did not want the vote, because they assumed it would come with the draft.

Women in the West are the only group of people to ever live, who got an unconditional vote.
