Yeah it was a bit baity and you should have gone with a phrasing like "infant genital mutilation", or "cutting into the genitals of infants" being legal here in the "west".

I also think most people are aware here about what happens when you bring up a comparison between MGM and FGM anywhere on mainstream reddit. Often even bringing up MGM as mutilation will spur a shitstorm.

Around here though most pro circ comments are heavily downvoted and debunked so I think it's safe to say that most people here are against infant circumcision regardless of gender.

Of course you are going to find pretty much the same arguments anywhere the issue is posted.

"I'm circumcised and happy about it"
"don't call me mutilated I don't feel mutilated"
"It's not even comparable to FGM"
"I think parents have a right to choose what they think it's best for their kids"
"it's cleaner/more hygienic/I don't have to clean it"
"there are health benefits"

And the accompanying counter arguments which usually involve a lot of links to studies, explanations of facts and anatomy, and general debunking of the above arguments. And then everything just goes around in circles for a while before people call each other names.
