Hey guys, I’m a new member here. I joined really because I’ve had a bad experience with feminism, my ex’s mum was a self proclaimed “radical feminist” and treated me like I only exist to please her daughter, they would always talk about male privilege and stuff but when we were talking about car insurance one day I brought up the fact that it’s cheaper for women because men are stereotyped as bad drivers, and said doesn’t that contradict feminism? She said it’s just tough shit and she wouldn’t have it any other way. The double standard pisses me off so much, and they demonise us when we try and stand up for ourselves, say we’re mansplaining, and are mysoginistic and stuff. I’ve even been called a fascist before for standing up for myself. I know it’s only a small thing, but it’s the double standard that gets on my nerves. How can people be so vocal about equality but seek victim status to gain a “moral high ground” against those who they believe “oppress” them. I say fuck feminism
